Hey guys! Welcome back! Don't forget to subscribe and leave your comments below this blog. Now let's get into our topic of the day. As students, the first thing we worry about is finishing tasks or assignments on time. (Although we do last minute, we expect to finish them on time perfectly) So, I am a lazy person but perfectionist. This is so opposite I guess. Hard to say but that's the truth! Well, do you want to know my secret on being a perfectionist? Continue reading and do share with your friends if you find these upcoming tips beneficial.
Number 1: Do a to-do list!
If a to-do list is not your cup of tea, then ensure that you remember all the tasks to be done. This point is for those who fear that they might forget their tasks. I usually use notebooks to jot down my to-do list but my notebooks are all too beautiful. (I am the type of person who worries about ruining beautiful notebooks! Yeah, I am weird) A plain paper would do the job! When you write down your to-do list, add your deadlines so that you know which task you should start with.
Number 2: Prioritize your tasks.
Before explaining this point, I am the type of person, when I get assignments, I do base on what I like rather than what should have been done at that time. Then, I changed this habit into prioritizing the tasks. As I mentioned earlier that including deadlines with the tasks, sometimes you might have several assignments to be done on the same deadline. So, you should make sure to do the easier tasks first because it wouldn't take much time. Then, use your rest of the time to do the challenging task.
Number 3: Pomodoro Technique
As I mentioned in my previous blog, I love using the Pomodoro technique. I do tasks and studying for 4 sessions of 30 minutes with 5 minutes break between each session. I am a night owl because that's when I feel energetic. After finishing classes in the morning, I do revisions, exercises and assignments at night. For the first two sessions, I do my assignments. Then in the next two sessions, I would revise on the topic that I found difficult. Sometimes I reverse this as starting with revision then doing assignments. When I was in high school like 13 to 15 years old I was worried about my big exam. It was an important public exam that all students should do in order to continue studying for their tertiary studies which are well-known as SPM. Then, I watched some YouTube videos on Study Techniques. That's when I found out about this technique! You can search for Pomodoro Study Technique or Study With Me for Real on YouTube!
Number 4: you're human! You definitely need a break.
So, congratulations on focusing on your studies! Aren't you gratified of yourself? Now you should give yourself a break. after studying or doing assignments for days or hours, spend time outside. Go for a walk and get some fresh air. Spend some time with your family and friends. If you want a shorter break, then read some novels or storybooks. If you ask me on books to read, I would say Harry Potter because I am Potterhead but rather than Harry Potter books I would highly recommend Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard and The School For Good and Evil by Soman Chainani. These three books inspired me to write my own novel!
Number 5: I told you to take a break, not a fancy vacation!
Now, focus back. Do another to-do list and prioritize again your tasks. Get motivated. If you are addicted to your phone, keep it far from you or turn off the notifications for a while in order to keep your phone far away from distracting you! So, this is all tips from me! Enjoy your day and have fun. Do leave your comments on what kind of topics should I talk about! Love you all!
